It's About Recovery

On March 6, 2011, Georgia met Florida State in a typical Sunday afternoon game at Foley Field in Athens GA. Tragedy struck the Dawgs as Johnathan Taylor suffered a neck injury in a head-to-head collision with teammate Zach Cone while both players pursued a line drive hit by Florida State's Devon Travis in the top of the third inning.
Taylor fractured two vertebrae in his spine. The paralysis has affected all of Taylor’s extremities, so he is considered a tetraplegic. He has some use of his arms, but no feeling in his legs or fingers. Still, he is able to use his hands again and even play video games. Since his spinal cord wasn’t severed, the hope is that his condition will continue improve with time. Johnathan continues to rehab daily at Shepherd Spinal Center.
We have joined forces to raise money for Johnathan and his continued recovery. Dawgs for JT will be held on February 4, 2012 at The Buckhead Theatre. The Kurt Thomas Band and DJ Jobe will provide music entertainment for the event. Tickets are on sale now for $25 per person. 100% of your ticket price will go directly to Johnathan’s recovery. We hope you and your friends will join us in showing Johnathan and his family that the Dawg nation does care.
